IMiS Notes interface
When IMiS environment is properly installed, the following buttons could appear in Notes document in action bar when document is opened.
- Scan button is available only when you are in Edit Mode in Notes document.
- View and IMiS Menu buttons are available only if a scanned object is already "connected" to Notes document.
On workstations with IMiS/View, only View and IMiS Menu buttons should appear.
- With Scan button pressed, user gets New document window in IMiS/Scan client. He scans the document and after saving it, he has to define object description as the last step in scanning proces. See object description dialog in the picture below.
User can type description manually or can select it from predefined list. Predefined list is defined in IMiS Setup document in Domino application (see Miscellaneous settings for more details).
See following documents for more details on scaning:
2.8.2 Settings for IMiS/Scan and IMiS/View Users
3.1.1 IMiS client interface
3.9.4.1 Scan button customization
- With View button pressed, user retrieves and view document. If there is only one object link in Notes document, than it is automaticlly opened without any dialog, but if there are more objects, than list of object descriptions is created for the user to select which object he would like to view. See example:
View button can also appear in Domino view so that user can view objects without opening Notes document. See How to access IMiS objects without opening Notes document? for more details on design steps that has to be taken for this feature to work. See following documents for more details:

- With IMiS Menu button, user get some additional features for object manipulation. Here is example of all functions available under this button:
Functions appear dinamiclly, based on diffferent conditions. For example:
- edit mode of Notes document is needed for Delete object and some other functions
- at least one attachment is needed for Import attachment function to appear
- OCR client has to be installed (via IMiS/Scan++ or IMiS/View++ ) for OCR functions to appear
- Administrator can prevent some functions to appear with appropriate Restrictions settings (see Restrictions Settings for more details).
- ...
Some functions have second level in pop-up menu. Second level is list of objects in current Notes document that are available for manipulation with this particular function. For example:
- Send by e-mail is available for all objects, so list will contain all objects
- OCR object is allowed only for images, so list will contrain only those objects, that are "declared" as IMiS objects (i.e. it will exclude MS Word documents)
- second level of Import attachment will contain only file names of attachments in current document
- ...
