Notes Database(s) Setup

If you need only scanning directlly to Rich text field:

We simplified installation if you need only scanning as attachment to rich text field. In that case install IMiS/Scan and then you have to copy only 2 agents in target database. This 2 agents are (IMiS Attach) and (IMiS Scan for Attach). Then create smarticon on scanning station with formula:

Nothing else is needed for this functionallity. For scanning to RT field, just put cursor in RT field and run smarticon. It will show IMiS/Scan interface and after saving image will be automatically attached to this field.

In other cases (storage out of Notes database) installation require some additional steps:

2.9.1 IMiS Design Elements

configure IMiS Setup document:

Administrator can configure IMiS settings for every Domino application using IMiS Setup action.

Copy settings from V3 profile button can be used if you upgrade IMiS system from release 3 (or under) to higher release. Newer releases use IMiS setup profile document with Domino server name as key. This is very important for applications that replicate to different remote servers. In previous releases IMiS Setup profile document was also replicated and that caused problems because remote users needed to access IMiS Administration database that was not on there home Domino server. That could hurt performance. With new release every replica has its own IMiS Setup document, so local IMiS Administration database can be used. By clicking on this buttons settings from earlier release will be copied to this new profile document.

Copy settings from other DB (Lotus Notes client 5 or higher is requested) button can be used if some other Domino application with the same IMiS settings already exist. By clicking this button you can select Domino application and setting from slected application will be copied to current document.
