IMiS/OCR Server 9.12 setup fails to start ABBYY Licensing service

Case:

When installing IMiS/OCR Server 9.12, setup might fail to start ABBYY Licensing service and all you can do is to revert the installation.

Description:

When IMiS/OCR Server 9.12 setup fails to start ABBYY Licensing service this might be due to missing prerequisite Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015. Please go to:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

Download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 32-bit and 64-bit version and install both of them.

Then try to install setup again. If that fails please run Command Prompt (cmd.exe) in administrator mode and run setup again using the following command line:

msiexec /i IMiS.OCRServer.9.12.1912.Full.msi /log install.log
