IMiS/OCR Server 8.x or earlier not supported on Windows 10

Product:IMiS/OCR Server
Release:8.x or earlier
Date:04/20/2018

Case: IMiS/OCR Server version 8.x or earlier is NOT supported on Windows 10 systems. The reason for this is that Microsoft has disabled interaction with Windows service GUI elements on Windows 10.

Description:

IMiS/OCR Server is implemented as a Windows service that uses a console window to configure and manage IMiS/OCR Server. Windows services run on a Session 0, which is protected since Windows Vista. Up to Windows 8.1 it was possible to interact with IMiS/OCR Server console window provided you enabled Interactive Service Detection service. On Windows 10 Microsoft has disabled keyboard and mouse interaction on Session 0.

We are in the process of releasing a new version of IMiS/OCR Server that will separate Windows service and GUI to overcome this issue. The new version is currently in the final development and QA stage and should be available by the end on May 2018.
