Remove scanner driver from IMiS/Scan

Case: Before disconnecting scanner from computer we recommend removing it also from IMiS/Scan.

Description:

If you do not remove the scanner driver settings, the user receives frequent notifications that the scanner is not connected, which can be disrupting.

Before disconnecting scanner start IMiS/Scan application and in Preference dialog in “Scanner” group click on “Remove scanner” button.
This action will remove all driver settings from preferences.



If user does not have insufficient rights this procedure will not work. Now you must remove settings manually by deleting registry key “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IS\IniFiles\setscan.ini” and remove "Driver" field from file setscan.ini in the "Scanner" section. File setscan.ini can be found in directory "%APPDATA%/ISIS Drivers".

If for some reason you can not edit setscan.ini file here is a third way.
Delete files setscan.ini and pixcache.ini in directory "%APPDATA%/ISIS Drivers". Delete key "Default settings" in Registry under key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IS\IMiS\IMiSScan". If IMiS/Scan profile "Default settings" was set as global profile then you must delete also key "Default settings" under key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\IS\IMiS\IMiSScan".

When scanner is reconnected you must again select scanner and check if all scanner settings are set correctly.
