Source

In the Source category you can set all the relevant scanner settings, like Paper size, Resolution, Brightness and Contrast. You can also set the Duplex option if you scanner support duplex scanning. Available values depends on the scanner driver. Click More button to get more scanner settings from the driver's settings dialog. Scanner driver can be undone by pressing Remove scanner button.

Scanner name:

Scanner driver name is saved with the profile. If you change the scanner, you will get the message asking you to check the scanner settings again. You should do that, since different scanners support different settings and the new settings may not match the previous settings. After that just click OK button and the message will not appear again.

File system:

Documents can also be imported into BatchScan's profile. This can be set with File System source. Files on folder or subfolders are used as a source form importing. After source files are imported they can be moved immediately or after profile is saved. They will be moved into folder specified in Move dir.
Default method of importing is Page by page. Source files are cut into single pages and each page is imported separately. Each page is run thru preset image filter. How it is combined together into new document, depends on profile’s general settings.

Document by document is Second method of importing where entire file imported into profile. Files are not cut into separate pages. Each file is run thru preset image filter. This file is then shown up in profile. Location of this file is on source folder.
If Move document in profile folder checkbox is check then document is copied into profile location.

After importing source documents can be deleted by selecting checkbox Delete imported documents.
