IMiS Document Types Administration

It allows to select and define document types that users can save on IMiS/ARC server. You can open this administration document by clicking on Document types view button.

Administration of document types is part of IMiS Administration database. Different types of documents can be saved to IMiS/ARC server by using Import files, Import attachment or Import all attachments action under IMiS Menu button (see Import files for more details). Administrator can access configuration of document types with IMiS Document Types Administration action in IMiS Administration database. The following configuration interface appears:

Administrator can decide, which document types are allowed for user to import them on IMiS/ARC Server. Document types can be added, deleted or changed.

Description is defined by administrator, but it is important to be understandable by users, because they get list of description when importing document.
Extension is used for triggering the correct application on users machine when user wants to view document.
Mime type is saved in objects record on IMiS/ARC server.

WARNING: Mime types must also be enabled on IMiS/ARC server. Most of known mime types are enabled there by default. But if you have any "exotic" mime type, than you first have to add it on IMiS/ARC server. See Configuring content types for more details.
