Menu and toolbars

IMiS client has almost all available commands listed in the menu. The most common ones are available through several toolbars. Toolbars, except for annotation toolbar, can be moved around. You can also hide selected toolbar in the toolbars popup menu (see Popup menus for more details). You can set the default view state of IMiS client menu on the General category of the Preferences (see General category for more details). This section describes all IMiS client menu commands.

File menu consists of standard windows commands in the following order:
  • New: create a new document
  • Open...: open an existing document
  • Save & Close : save currently opened document and close it
  • Save Only: save currently opened document without closing it
  • Close: close currently opened document
  • Send...: send current document by e-mail
  • Export as...: export current document on file system
  • Print...: Print currently opened document
  • Exit: Exit the application

Edit menu consists of the following commands:
  • Cut: cut page(s) or annotations to clipboard
  • Copy: copy region, page(s) or annotations to clipboard
  • Paste: paste the contents of clipboard
  • Delete: delete selection of page(s), region or annotations.
  • Select all: select all pages.
  • OCR...: send region, page(s) or document to OCR module* (see Optical character recognition for more details)
  • Edit mode: enable document edit mode. Shortcut is F2.

    Note: * available only in IMiS/Scan++ and IMiS/View++ editions

Scan menu consists of the following scan related commands:
  • Scan page: scan a page from flatbed or ADF
  • Scan batch: scan several pages from ADF (automatic document feeder)
  • Scanner settings...: displays the scanner settings dialog (see Scanner settings for more details)
  • Select scanner...: displays the select scanner dialog (see Scanner selection for more details)

    Note: Scan menu is a part of IMiS/Scan modules only.

Page menu consists of the following page related commands:
  • Previous: go to previous page in a (multipage) document
  • Next: go to next page in a (multipage) document
  • Go to...: displays select page dialog
  • Insert mode: select between insert or overwrite page insert mode
  • Information...: shows page information dialog (see Page information for more details)

View menu consists of the following view related commands:
  • Invert: inverts an image to its negative equivalent.
  • Rotate left: rotate page view left
  • Rotate right: rotate page view right
  • Orientation: select page view orientation (Vertical, 90°, 180°, 270°)
  • Mirror: mirror page view
  • Zoom in: zoom in on the page
  • Zoom out: zoom out on the page
  • Zoom to: zoom to actual size, whole page, page height or page width
  • Show grays: convert black and white image content into shades of gray
  • Apply to all: apply above view commands to all pages (does not apply to thumbnails)

    Note: use of view commands does not change the document.
    Note: use of rotation or mirroring in Edit mode will show you a dialog box asking you if you want to save document in rotated/mirrored state.

Tools menu consists of the following commands:
  • Annotation tool: select an annotation tool (see Annotations for more details)
  • Mouse mode: select a mouse mode (see Mouse mode for more details)
  • Thumbnails: show / hide document page preview panel (see Thumbnails for more details)
  • Thumbnail size: select a thumbnails size (see Thumbnails for more details)
  • Pan window: show pan window (see Pan window for more details)
  • Preferences...: show preferences dialog (see Preferences for more details)

Window menu consists of the following commands:
  • Cascade: cascade open windows
  • Tile horizontally: tile open windows horizontally
  • Tile vertically: tile open windows vertically
  • Close all: close all windows

Help menu consists of the following commands:
  • IMiS homepage: go to IMiS homepage
  • IMiS manual: check out IMiS manual
  • About...: show IMiS client about box
