Digital signature

This topic explains how you can digitally sign a document in IMiS client with or without a stamp.

Digital signature is used to authenticate digital documents by using computer cryptography. Digital signatures help to establish the following assurances: If a document is changed after it is signed, the signature is invalidated.

To make these assurances, the content creator must digitally sign the content by using a signature that satisfies the following criteria:
There are two different ways you can use digital signatures to sign documents. You can either: add visible signature stamp to a document or add an invisible digital signature to a document.

To add visible digital signature in IMiS client:

Actual signing will be performed on document save.
Position and the predefined components of the visual signature can be saved for later use by clicking Save button.

There are two ways to add invisible digital signature in IMiS client:

Sign document on every save:

Now when document is saved it is also signed.

Manually sign document:

Actual signing will be performed on document save.

If you do not want to sign the document just remove signature with Remove signature button .
