How IMiS/ICR server works

The following picture shows typical forms processing case. Batch of forms is scanned with batch scanning software (like IMiS/BatchScan). Forms are scanned to common file server folder. IMiS/ICR servers monitor this folder and grab scanned forms immediately. Forms are recognized, validated and recognized data is exported to target Domino database. If needed, IMiS/ICR clients verify recognized data and confirm correct recognition. Original scanned forms are still available from target Domino database. Verified data can be replicated (exported) to any ERP system.

Next picture shows typical IMiS/ICR server console after recognition. Scanned forms are grabbed in batch of 10 (see IMiS/ICR settings for more details) and then recognized and validate one by one. If recognized data pass all validation rules then it is logically OK. It can fail with any of validation rule (logical check error) or some characters may be rejected (rejected chars error). Logically failed documents get special export fields that can be used to filter them in target database and then to verify them. See error and status fields for more details. Rejected forms could not match template and this scanned forms are left on file server folder\computer name folderfor rescan or manual data entry. Statistics is shown above the console.

Error and status fields

There are 3 types of recognition errors:

There are special Notes fields that indicates these errors:

These fields can be used in view selection formulas to filter documents that were incorrectly validated and need to be verified.
