IMiS/OCR Server comes in a msi setup package with USB iKey protection token. Setup package can be copied onto harddrive or ran from CD disc. Its recommended to close all running applications.


IMPORTANT: DO NOT INSERT THE iKey USB PROTECTION KEY into USB hub prior of installing IMiS/OCR Server. IMiS/OCR Server must be installed without iKey inserted into USB hub for installation to be successfully completed. Also refer to items 1, 2 and 10 of the installation instructions below!


1. Login into the system having Local Administration Rights level. If you're using a USB iKey token protected product on Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2003R2 you may skip to item 3.

2. If you're installing on Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows 7 or Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2008R2, we suggest installing iKey drivers prior to installing the actual package due to issues in SafeNet iKey Drivers package. Select appropriate package from installation location located in folder iKeyDrivers\32bit or iKeyDrivers\64bit according to your OS architecture. You can choose between ikeydrvrXX.exe or ikeydrvrXX.msi but installation of only one is required for normal operation.

If the installation fails (faulty installation package), you may be required the install the iKey device yourself by inserting the iKey token, after OS prompts that it is unable to locate the appropriate drivers, browse for the driver files and look for the driver files in %PROGRAMFILES%\SafeNet\iKey Driver\Drvr\WinVISTA\. The Driver should then install fine.


Open Device Manager, select iKey 1000 device with right-click and select Update Driver Software...


Select "Browse my computer for driver software":
Point to the installation directory of the SafeNet iKey Driver:

After installation the Device Manager should show the Rainbow iKey 1000 device under Smart card readers


3. Run setup package from Microsoft Explorer or console window.


4. Installation is straight forward process. Read the license agreement carefully and confirm your agreement by selecting <I accept the terms in the license agreement>.


5. Enter your personal information. Since IMiS/OCR Server is ran as a system service by SYSTEM user, make the installation available to "Anyone".


6. Its recommended to select Complete Setup Type as all features are recommended to be installed. If you wish, you might select Custom Setup Type and modify installed features and installation path.

7. Confirm the beginning of the installation by using <Install> button. This will install IMiS/OCR Server and all its subfeatures to the selected path. Remember NOT to put iKey USB Protection key until this process is finished.

8. If installation is successful, you will see a confirmation dialog window stating that Installation was successful.


9. After installation is completed, you should REBOOT the system for IMiS/OCR Server to start working. At this time, insert iKey USB Protection Key if provided. You might get a Microsoft Windows notification, that new hardware is detected and that its being installed. This is all OK. If iKey USB Protection Key is not provided your installation is also completed.
10. If you're installing on Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows 7 or Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2008R2 you might see the following installation failure message:


You may disregard the message since it has to do with iKey Drivers installation failure which doesn't hinder the IMiS/OCR Server installation.
