Architecture

With IMiS you can create/store paper based documents on several ways:
Scanned documents can be quite large, especially if you are dealing with lots of pages or if they contain colour or grayscale parts. That's why we do recommend to store only links into Notes documents while image itself have to be stored either on IMiS/ARC or somewhere on file server.

The following table presents so called IMiS Table with all information (links) about documents that are stored on IMiS/ARC server. With such architecture IMiS takes only up to 128 bytes of Notes document instead of several Kb's (OLE link, for instance could take from 7 - 23 Kb) or even Megabytes (in case that image is stored as attachment in Notes document).


Storing images on IMiS/ARC (or on file server) provides several advantages, like:
