Document indexing

IMiS/Scan++ or IMiS/View++ clients together with IMiS enabled Lotus Notes database enables users to perform faster indexing of documents using OCR and LSX technology. Indexing is the process of assigning metadata to the documents in the document management system for more efficient searching and categorizing. In most cases indexing is even more time consuming than scanning.

To index a field in a document select OCR mouse mode in the Mouse mode toolbar. Select a region on scanned image and available Lotus Notes document fields will appear in the popup menu as shown in screenshot below. Select a field you want to assign the value of the OCR result. OCR result will be immediately inserted in Lotus Notes document field.
