Deleting a volume

Administrator can also delete volume from IMiS/ARChive volume list. This is achieved by selecting a volume that needs to be deleted and pressing DELETE button.

Note: For administrator to successfully delete a volume, selected volume MUST BE EMPTY. You should first configure level that this volume has been assigned to in a way, that all objects will be pushed to lower HSM level and run IMiS/ARChive object migrator. By this all volumes assigned to this level will start pushing objects to other volumes and will eventualy be emptied out. You can then remove volume from the level.

QUICK EXAMPLE:

1) Select volue that you want to remove.

2) Press DELETE button. If successful, volume is tagged to be removed from volume list. In Select volume list all volumes tagged for deletion are prefixed by asterisk.

3) Press ACTIVATE to finally delete all tagged volumes.
