Disabling COM interface in IMiS imaging clients

Case:

We have identified unfortunate issues with IMiS imaging clients version 9.10.1910 or earlier (ie. IMiS/Scan or IMiS/View) when COM interface is used by IMiS enabled Notes applications to communicate with clients. Notes application can freeze or crash when IMiSClient.Appliaction COM objects are being closed after executing functions in Notes application code. Since IMiS imaging clients also have an equivalent C API alternative the temporary solution is to disable COM interface.

Description:

To disable COM interface from being used in Notes application to communicate with IMiS imaging clients (ie. IMiS/Scan or IMiS/View) and avoid issues described above we suggest you to try the following:

1. Open Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
2. Locate "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\IMiSClient.Application" and rename it to "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\IMiSClient.Application1" for example.
3. Restart Notes and try to reproduce the issue.

Note that IMiS Imaging Client setup packages will recreate the above registry key when upgrading, so be sure to rename the registry key again until the issue is fixed.
