Document does not open when using IMiS/Net and MS Internet Explorer

Case:

When using MS IE and IMiS/Net, sometimes document does not open and IE window is automatically closed. IMiS/Net code connects to storage server and retrieves object to Domino file system. If document is successfully retrieved, code uses window.open Javacript method to send retrieved document to browser. The problem appears if IE uses pop-up blocker. Pop-up blocker software disables window.open method. Another problem might be disabled "Automatic prompting for file downloads" or "File download" properties in Downloads section of security settings (see picture below).

Description:

Simple solution is to put HTTP address of IBM Lotus Domino server (where IMiS/Net is installed) in Trusted sites list. This can be set in Tools/Internet options/Security/Trusted Site/Sites. If this is not possible, than there are 3 manual steps to take:

1. Put HTTP address of IBM Lotus Domino server (where IMiS/Net is installed) in exception list of pop-up blocker. This can be set in Tools/Internet options/Privacy/Pop-up Blocker-Settings. This also has to be set in any other pop-up blocking software.

2. Change security setting "Automatic prompting for file downloads" to ENABLE in default Web content zone - Tools/Internet options/Security/Custom Level... (see picture below)

3. Change security setting "File download" to ENABLE in default Web content zone - Tools/Internet options/Security/Custom Level... (see picture below)
