IMiS/Scan 2.9 is required when using Domino.Doc 3.5

Product:IMiS/Scan, Domino.Doc
Release:2.9
Date:08/29/2002

Case: One of our customers reported the following problem after upgrading from Domino.Doc 3.1 to 3.5:

"We are no longer able to Save scanned documents as a Pdf only as a Tif file - the option to change it is greyed out.  Also in the Domument Profile they are no longer able to use a / in the name of the document. The option to select pdf is not greyed out, it is being ignored, ie pdf is selected as the file type but the software will only save as tif's."

Description:

As a workaround, we are recommending our customers to downgrade back to Domino.Doc Desktop Enabler 3.1, or upgrade to IMiS/Scan 2.9.

With IMiS/Scan version 2.9 the problem is solved. Documents are saved as PDF.
We also tested version 2.9 with Domino.Doc Desktop enabler 3.1 and it also works.

In "Save As" ODMA dialog (with 3.5 Domino.Doc Desktop Enabler version) you will get "Save as type" field set to "IMiS.Document (*.tif)" if TIF is selected in IMiS/Scan preferences or "IMiS.Document.PDF (*.tif)" if PDF type is set in IMiS/Scan preferences.

"(.tif)" at the end of PDF file type is not under our influence, so we can not get rid of it, but document will be saved as PDF, so this is just a cosmetic error.

Updated evaluation copy has been posted to our web site on August 30, while all customers will receive appropriate notifications via email.
