Common IMiS/Scan & IMiS/View errors
Working with documents in IMiS/Scan or IMiS/View can sometimes lead to problems. Here is a list of most common errors user can encounter.
Incorrect document format
Cause: The document is not written in a file format recognized by the IMiS/Scan application.
* do not open files with the IMiS/Scan application in a format which the IMiS/Scan application is not familiar with
* if file has a TIF or PDF extension, but has not been written in the TIFF or PDF file format, assign the proper extension to the file and open it in a viewer which supports that format.
Cause: The document's file record is incorrect or damaged.
* request an undamaged copy of the document from the author of the damaged document
* send the damaged document to firstname.lastname@example.org. Technical support will try to restore the record.
Document cannot be opened in modification mode
Cause: The document you wish to edit is already open in modification mode.
Fix: If you have already opened the document in modification mode, close it; otherwise wait for the other user to finish editing it.
Error #2 when opening a document
Cause: This error occurs when reading a document due to an incorrectly provided document name or path to the document on the file system.
Fix: When opening the document, enter the correct name or path to the document.
Error #11 when opening a document
Cause: Invalid document identifier (object ID), saved on the IMiS/ARChive Server.
Fix: Provide the correct document identifier (object ID).
Cause: The document does not exist on the IMiS/ARChive Server.
Fix: Check whether the document is indeed saved on the IMiS/ARChive Server.
Cause: The document is open in another application (Word, Excel) and cannot be transferred to the IMiS/ARChive Server.
Fix: Close the document and try to import it again (File import).
Cause: A temporary file cannot be created in the temporary folder.
Fix: Check whether the user has the rights for writing in the temporary folder.
Error #14 when saving a document
Cause: Wrong name of the folder in which you wish to save the document.
Fix: Enter the correct folder name in the dialog box for saving files.
Cause: A document saved on the IMiS/ARChive Server cannot be copied to a temporary file.
Fix: The administrator checks the user rights for the temporary folder in which the temporary file is located.
Cause: The document cannot be saved on the IMiS/ARChive Server.
Fix: Check the operation of the IMiS/ARChive Server. Contact technical support via email: email@example.com.
Error #201 when saving a document
Cause: The provided IMiS/ARChive Server profile does not exist.
Fix: Check the entered profile name. Contact technical support via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Error #61523 when creating or opening a document
Cause: Network problem. No connection to storage provider. Closed port or invalid hostname or IP address.
Fix: Check availability of IMiS/ARChive Server network address and port (default 16807). Contact technical support via email: email@example.com.
Cause: Wrong PreSharedKey for authenticated session
Fix: Check the passed PreSharedKey value for authenticated session
