Case:

IMiS/wScan version 1.9.2310 is the first release of IMiS/wScan after Imaging Systems d.o.o. was acquired by MARG d.o.o. to form a new company MARGIS d.o.o.. This article describes how to upgrade IMiS/wScan to preserve previous settings and logs after upgrade.

Description:

Before upgrading to version 1.9.2310 make sure previous version is not running.

Exit IMiS/Capture Admin application if running in Windows Taskbar and stop IMiS/Capture Service in Services application or Services tab of the Windows Task Manager.

Check Details tab of the Windows Task Manager that none of the below processes are running.



Next open Registry Editor and rename registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Imaging Systems

to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Margis



Next open Windows Explorer, go to %PROGRAMDATA% folder and rename

%PROGRAMDATA%\Imaging Systems\

to

%PROGRAMDATA%\Margis\



Now run IMiS/wScan setup (e.g. IMiS.wScan.1.9.2310.x64.msi) and upgrade IMiS/wScan to new version.

You should now be able to use previously defined IMiS/wScan profiles and continue logging to previous logs.
