Case:

With IMiS/Scan 10.3.2210 version we have added "Internal blank page removal" feature that provides blank page detection and removal at the application level. This feature is useful when a scanner driver does not natively provide blank page removal functionality or for some reason does not work properly.

Description:

To activate blank page detection and removal at the application level check "Enable internal blank page removal" option on Document Settings Advanced tab.

You can configure blank page detection through "Threshold" setting. The threshold value is 20 by default.

Increasing this value translates to a wider range of pages considered blank, while decreasing this value reduces the range.



Recommended threshold values for blank B/W A4 300 dpi pages are:
• Pristine white: 0-10
• Dirty white: 10-20
• Very dirty white: 20-40.

To select blank page detection threshold value, it helps to first scan some sample blank pages and then check computed values of the blank page detection algorithm for these sample pages in the log file located by default in "%TEMP%" folder. Based on these values you can select the appropriate value.
