IMiS/OCR Server runs as a stand-alone .exe on Windows platform. It works as batch services. Users just needs to send an Email with .tif as an attachment to the server and they are getting results back to his/her mailbox. It's also possible to set several NSFs to be monitored by IMiS/OCR Server, immediately processing new scanned documents...

and you'll get results back to your mail.box in just few minutes...

OCR on the client side. IMiS/OCR Client module was developed for clients that don’t need IMiS/OCR Server... in case, that you needs to have only few workstations with OCR functionality. While OCR Server is running in so called batch mode, IMiS/OCR Client worked in on-line mode which means, that an user have to wait until OCR won't finish its task.
IMiS/OCR Client has been discontinued during 2004 and it is now bundled into IMiS/Scan ++ and into IMiS/View++.
